Yea and Surrounds
The township of Yea is situated between Seymour and Alexandra in a rich pastoral and dairying district.
Yea's commercial centre straddles each side of the wide boulevard of High Street with attractive parkland located in the street's central strip.
Originally a gold mining area, the town retains many historical buildings built in those days including Beaufort Manor (1876), the post office, shire hall and several churches.
The Yea River flows through the town, surrounded by parks, wetlands and small lakes. |
